DJ Chose - Picture This (Mixtape, 2011)
DJ Chose, the greatest rapping producer in Brookshire, TX drops his long awaited (by me, and probably people in Texas) Picture This tape. Chose’s production is uniformly excellent, toeing the line between post-ringtone Southern poppy stuff and Huntsvillian ethereal trunk music. He’s also evolving as a rapper, occasionally rapping about more than just pussy popping and bagging chicks on here. It’s not yet clear whether that progression is a step in the right direction but he’s an undeniably good storyteller whatever the subject, with a particularly great eye for describing the small life details of strippers.
